Summary of Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for CFPB Consumer Access to Financial Records

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (CFPB) is developing regulations to implement section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act). Section 1033 provides for consumer access to financial records. The CFPB issued this Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) to solicit comments and information as part of the rulemaking process.
In addition to solicited comments on all aspects of customer access to financial data, the CFPB published 46 questions for comment, broken down by subject.
