Summary of Disclosure of Information Proposed Rule

On June 30, 2026, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) published a notice of proposed rulemaking that would overhaul its regulations governing disclosure of FDIC information. The proposal would reorganize 12 CFR part 309, expand circumstances in which insured depository institutions may share FDIC confidential information without prior FDIC approval, and establish clearer standards for discretionary disclosures by the FDIC.
