Summary of FDIC Advertising Extension

On November 28, 2025, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation announced they were delaying portion of the FDIC’s Official Signs and Advertising Requirements, False Advertising, Misrepresentation of Insured Status, and Misuse of the FDIC’s Name or Logo Final Rule. Compliance for 12 CFR 328.4 and 328.5 has been delayed from March 1, 2026, to January 1, 2027. 12 CFR 328.4 requires specific signage for Automated Teller Machines. 12 CFR 328.5 requires signage for digital deposit taking channels. This summary reviews the background and provisions surrounding this delay.
