Regulation A governs extensions of credit to financial institutions by the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB). It includes discount window, adjustment credit, extended credit, or emergency credit. Credit is available to all depository institutions that keep reserves at a Federal Reserve bank (i.e., all that offer transaction accounts or non-personal time deposits). (12 CFR 201)
