Summary:

The President of the United States today signed legislation designating Juneteenth a federal holiday. As the official holiday falls on a Saturday this year, the federal government will observe the holiday on Friday, June 18. When determining their operating status tomorrow, FDIC-supervised institutions should comply with applicable requirements of their state chartering authority and consider the impact on customers.

Statement of Applicability: This Financial Institution Letter (FIL) applies to all FDIC-supervised financial institutions.
