Notice of proposed rulemaking.
SUMMARY:
Part 27 applies to national banks and their subsidiaries, but does not apply to federal savings associations. The OCC proposes to recind part 27 for national banks due to the ability to use other tools for identifying fair lending risks. The OCC feels this is largely duplicative of HMDA and ECOA. There are also regulatory inconsistencies through Part 27 compared to Regulations B and C, particularly.
